Hello everyone!
I am 41, and have normal, non-problematic skin, with some sun damage visible around mouth and eyes.
I was thinking about chemical peel to rejuvenate my face. Do you think it would be vise to do it before summer vacations (I am going in 3 weeks), where I will be exposed to sun, or is it better to do it when I come back. I haven’t really met anybody who had chemical peel done, so I would appreciate if some with experience would respond!
Thanks!

Oh, I think it is definitely better to do it after you come back. You will exposed to sun again, and since you’ll have ‘newly peeled skin’, I think it is definitely better to do it after you return. You may schedule your appointment, and ask doctor what s/he thinks- I am sure doctor will tell you the same. Practically upper layer of your skin is burned (this is very laic- doctor should explain better), so it is def not wise to have skin exposed to sun after treatment. However, if you do expose to sun, it has to be quick, and most of all you have to wear high SPF lotion. It is definitely better to do chemical peel after you come back.
I had my first chemical peel done 2 years ago.
The first time I was red the longest, but only for few days. In the following 3 treatments it was like my skin adjusted to having chemical peels done.
I am glad I did it: chemical peel improved my skin texture and toned my face; as I said, there were almost no side effects.

I do an at-home neutregena one but it's not very strong. Anyone had good results for acne scars?

I had one already. I got one without hesitation after reading an article from the net. I guess that's how desperate I was to try anything for my skin. If you've fair skin tone then you might want a gentler peel. It will be better whether you take it after or before sunbathing. I suggest a glycolic peel though. It's milder than most other chem peels. Read this article for more info.
