I have one questrion. I find detox diet with moon phases quite useful,, if would just like to know whether detox diets are safe or not. Most detox diets claim they strenghten the immune system, increase the level of energy and revitalize skin, and above all, reduce the weight gain.
Is all this true? |

it is true that promoters of detox diets, which aim is to free toxines from vital body organs (liver, colon), claim detox diets are good for imune system, increase the level of energy, ... Detox diets are mainly based on (fresh) vegetables and fruits and lots of water. My opinion is that we should all respect one day in a week, when we should eat only vegetables and fruit. You need to drink lots of water anyway. But just one day in a week and not whole week or two. And some even take diuretics and laxatives ... huh
Most docotrs think lungs, kidney, liver, gasrtointestinal tract and imune system are capable themself to detoxicate poisons from body and we do not need additional stimulation, especially not as radical one.
There are all simple and very logical explanations for the results of socalled detoxication programes and have actually noting to do with internal body cleaning: cleaner and shinier skin because of bigger consumption of water; slight fulness of stomach simply because of smaller intake of food consumption.
Although most young and healthy people may undergo such sock or detox (or however you want to name them) diets, without any consequences on their health, undergoing such type of diets OFTEN would mean danger to cardio and nervous system. |
