| I have a question about aromatherapy lotion? I read in some posts here that it is best to use fragrance-free skincare products, and some other posts say aromatherapy lotions are beneficial for skin? What exactly is the difference? If fragrances are not safe to use, why are aromatic lotions ok? |

I think the difference is in chemicals and irritation chemical-made fragrance does to some people’s skin. I am not saying everyone react bad to fragrances in skincare products, though it is true this fragrances are chemical-based and when applied on skin (in for of lotion) skin actually absorbs this lotion, and chemicals contained as well.
Difference between chemical made fragrances, most widely used in cosmetic industry, and essential oils, that are used in aromatherapy lotions, is in its origin. Of course, also essential or aromatic oils used in aromatherapy lotion can be substituted with chemicals, though buy only ORGANIC aromatic oils. If not, non-organic etheric oil contained in homamade aromatherapy lotion does more damage than good. So buy just organic aromatherapy oils, prepared in old fashioned distilled way.
I hope this helps. |
