My daughter has a skin problem with acne. So far she hasn’t used mineral makeup. I am just wondering if anyone here with acne problem has used bare minerals / essectials?
How does it cover acne?
Does someone has problems with skin irritation?
How long does one appliance last? |

I have moderate acne, and for the past 2 years I have been using Bare minerals. I have also tried Physician’s formula for coverage, but bare minerals work better on my skin.
Bare minerals does cover acne, but it does not give the flawless appearance on skin as in add they say it would. I am applying just as they say in the video! Major negative is that the pores are more visible (but I do not have large pores otherwise).
About skin irritation- it does not irritate my skin, but Bare Minerals coverage does contain irritant, called Bisthmus, I think, and cause itching or irritation. Anyway, this ingredient is added to ease application (It hasn’t ease it anyway). So, if your daughter’s skin is very sensitive, maybe she’ll react to this ingredient. But all other powders use it, so …
About lasting effect- it lasts no more than 4 to 6 hours, so I am not really satisfied with this lasting experience, but it is no different than the other foundations I have used anyway.
One more negative view I would like to mention- bare minerals line is quite expensive, at least comparing to other lines, so I suggest you two try with samples for beginning to see how it works on hers skin. |

| I just switched to bare minerals...maybe it's bare essentials, I can't remember, I bought it maybe two weeks ago. Immediatly I noticed a difference in how my pimples/zits reacted to this make up and how they reacted to my previous make up (matte mousse). The difference was they don't react to mineral make up, in fact it seems to minimize inflamation!! The coverage is par. I've actually found the coverage does better about an hour after application. It doesn't cover my current zits very well but I've been so pleased with the results-how my skin reacts to it- I've stopped using my loreal concealor and am willing to deal with lack of coverage until I can afford to purchase the mineral make up line concealor, it is more expensive-but worth it!. It may not be the best for people with multi-tone skin like me coverage wise but for acne it is wonderful. |
