| Hi, i have a question about black hair texturizers. My mom says i sohuldn't use texturizers on my hair- they will damage my hair and that they cause scarring and burning. I hate my black hair, i do- can't do nothing with my black hair- looks nappy- you know what i mean. And don;t wanna wear dreads. Almost all friends use texturizers and relaxars. Why shouldn't I? |

Both, texturizers and relaxers contain chemicals that change the natural state of your hair. Your mom's right. It could damage your hair permanently. I am sorry to say that but it;s better not to use these chemicals as a permanent solution. Ever wondered why beauticians wear gloves when giving perms??? cos they are working with dangerous and toxic chemicals! I mean they change the strucutre of your hair- which means they must be very aggressive.
And if you want to have your hair permanently done, you have to repeat the process every 2 months – it does cause damage if done on regular basis. And yes, scarring, burning of the scalp or hair line happens, thinning of the hair, in extreme cases we are talking about hair loss! |

Oh, please- hair loss??? Not such hard core. Try and see. Some people say they burn their scalp, but most of them not. It never happened to me.. Try and see- if your skin/hair reacts in a bad way, stop using them.
But i understand you want to use them. I certanly don't wanna walk around with my natural hair- i want either defined curls or straight hair. |
