| What is the best treatment for blackhead removal? I have combined skin, do not have acne (use to have them in adolescence), but I do have blackheads. I have blackheads mostly on my nose and chin, and now and there on the cheeks, forehead – but the nose and chin are most critical. What would be best to do for blackhead removal? |

It is best if you steam once a week or once in 10 days. Take boiling water, remove from fire, lean over water (your head should be at least 10 inches from water – just watch out you do not get burned), cover your head with towel, eyes must be closed, breath through nose, and stay than way for 2 minutes- if your skin doesn’t feel good, move away, and repeat a bit later.
After steaming your blackheads will be much easier to remove- skin is much softer, pores are more open, thus the blackhead is easier to remove.
Also, one more thing- if you have ongoing problem with blackheads, I recommend to buy yourself a tool, created especially for blackhead removal. This tool is long and narrow and has a hole in either end, one is large and one small. When removing blackhead, you choose one end and centre it over blackhead and press down- you do not have to use strength- very gentle pressure on the skin brings it out. I do not know how exactly is this tool called, but it is much better to use it than your fingers! |
