Neighbour had ectopic pregnensy. I don't know what is that, and i didn't want to ask her. What is ectopic pregnensy? I suppose it is not contageous... How common is ectopic pregnensy and what causes it? How does woman know if she has ectopic pregnensy?

Ectopic pregnancy is not a virus and is not contageous.
Ectopic pregnancy is also known as tubal pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy occurs when the pregnancy implants outside the womb, for example inside abdomen or cervix, or ovaries... ectopic pregnancy can occur in several places actually, in the area of abdomen and genitals. Ectopic pregnancy cannot last and must be interrupt as it dangerous for woman's health. And usually this way women also find out they have ectopic pregnansy: woman has abdominal pain, usually on one side; may have some vaginal bleeding, but missing period; may even collaps. Some women report fainting or shoulder-tip pain. When woman is taken to hospital and then tests are done.
Ectopic pregnansy is not very common- it represents approximately 1% of all pregnencies, although this percentage is rising. Also interesting- Jamaica has the highest rate of ectopic pregnansies (1 out of 28!)
Ectopic (tubal) pregnency may be caused by any alteration of tubal function. Thus, if any problems/surgeires on tubes were present in the past, it is a higher chance woman will experince ectopic pregnancy. Very common cause lately is chlamydia or gonorrhoea or any other pelvic inflammatory disease or any infection that may cause scar tissue or damage cilia.
Another cause might be previous ectopic pregnansy Statistics claim, that 10-20% of women attempting pregnancy afer they had ectopic preg. Will have another one.
Risk of actopic pregnancy increases among those who have had two or more terminations, espcially if followed by infection.
Rare cause may be Des exposure (i think you would know, if you were exposed)- it was a drug once used during pregnancy, and then it was discovered that it caused developmental abnormalities of the genital system in female babies. It's really very rare cause.
