I am not going to tell you that everything is going to be fine and wonderful, since facelift is quite a procedure and it is not a easy one. Everyone should consider it with deep thinking as every facelift can go wrong, especially when you consider the extensive effect facelift has on a patient, these risks should be expected. Facelifts, as any other surgery has its own risk and side effect, and many of side effects are common to any surgical technique. That type side effects are allergic reaction to anesthesia or medication prescribed following facelift. With every cosmetic surgery some temporary swelling and bruising occurs.
Haematoma is more serious condition, in which oatient experiences bleeding under skin, which causes painful swelling. Further surgery is needed.
Facial nerve damage is usually temporary condition, but not necessary. Considering that nerve endings are severed during facelift, patient may experience some nerve damage on face, which causes deformation of face.
Best way to minimize possible unwanted consequence when undergoing facelift is to have facelift performed by board certified and highly qualified plastic surgeon. And even then possible complications are inevitable.
Think about it- it can always go wrong, and even worse, it can stay that way for ever. |
