Main difference is in infra-red heat, which is similar to heat of sun and our bodies, which means infra-red sauna uses 80% of the energy to heat body and the rest to heat the air. In conventional sauna this is not the case. In comparison to conventional sauna infra-red sauna provides a deeper tissue penetration, there is less electricity used. Most of all, air in conventional sauna may be too hot and thus harmful to some people- this is not the case in infra-red saunas- they can be used by all people of all ages.
Benefits of infra-red sauna are: weight loss (I read somewhere that in 30 minutes 600 kcal can be lost! Which is supposedly because metabolism is speed up in infra-red sauna which results in weight loss) and of course well known detoxification.
Since conventional saunas are not recommended to people with cardiovascular diseases, this is not the case with infra-red sauna, which improves blood circulation and increases the heart beat rate which is necessary for improving one's health.
People use all saunas for reduction of stress and relaxation, to make more beautiful skin and improve immune system.
Hope that helps... |
