| My daughter has acne of her face (mostly cheek and forehead)- she has combined and sensitive skin. She is 17, and is staring to use makeup- not only mascara and shadowers, but also powders. I do not have problem with that- I allow her to sue use makeup- the problem is she applies it in the morning and doesn’t remove it until bed time. She spends the entire day with makeup on- I am not professional beautician or dermatologist, but I know this is not good for her young skin, nor for curing acne. I was thinking about buying her Bare Minerals or some other mineral makeup, because I heard mineral makeup is good for people suffering from acne, because it does not clog pores, like other makeup. However, Bare Minerals concealer or foundation or any other of Bare Minerals products is very expensive, at least comparing to other brands, so I would like to heard from someone that has already tried Bare Minerals- I would like to know if Bare Minerals is really worth it? I am not going to give one hundred dollars on product that is not worth it, and that is not as described. Anyone with Bare Minerals experience here? |

Hello!
First of all, I must say it is not good to judge just by my experience, as mine is not good – so if orienting by me, your daughter will not get a new makeup set
I also have combined skin, but my skin is older (I am 36). I was very impressed by the reviews and benefits mineral makeup brings (mineral makeup is better for acne than ordinary, greasy one), but it just didn’t work out on me, and yes, I was disappointed with Bare Minerals performance- by my opinion one Bare Minerals concealer is not worth 50 bucks, no way… even if it sings while applied…
The problem in my case is- makeup made my laugh wrinkles around eyes so prominent, I started to cry once… I don’t wanna go there now…
Anyway- Bare Minerals is not really what they say it is… you have to use much more than they say you must (so it is not like a little really goes that long), and most of all- every wrinkle, crease is evident- I am sure this will not be such a problem for 17 year old, but it was a huge problem for me. On the other hand, I did not have any break outs, so I think you do not have to worry about this…
As far as I am concerned, I am going back to my old brands- L’oreal works bets for me. I gave my Bare Minerals to my younger sister- she is satisfied with the results, and she doesn’t have problems like I did, and as I said, I didn’t mean to write this so you wouldn’t buy your daughter foundation or whatever you’re planning to- this is just my experience, but considering acne and mineral makeup- mineral makeup is better for problems with acne… I am not saying Bare Minerals will reduce her acne, but it will at least not aggravate her condition. |
