Yes, exfoliate good and evenly wherever you plan to apply Jamaica me Tan spray. If you don’t have exfoliator, u can use baking soda or even flour, but baking soda is much better as it won’t make such a mess. Mix baking soda (or whatever you’ll use) with a shower get- make sure it is pure gel and not bare soap or gel that moisturizes skin. It is not good, because it creates a film on your skin and will prevent Jamaica me Tan spray to absorb good.
The areas that are easily tanned on sun, like knees , those same areas are more likely to absorb more spray, so the color of skin may look uneven. However, there is solution to that too- you know about ‘the film’ I was explaining and moisturozers, well- in this case you have to do exactly this- apply a bit of lotion on knees or wherever you have exxperince that you ‘grab’ color more likely. Wait 30 minutes and then you’re ready to go.
Now, after proper exfoliation and moisturizing of certain areas that are more prone to ‘tanning’ you are ready for Jamaica Me Tan spray. Actually this is not just Jamaica Me Tan spray technique application, you should follow the procedure when applying other tanning sprays or tanning lotion. It will make your skin color much more even.
Ok, let’s get back to the main part- Jamaica Me Tan spray application.
Application of Jamaica Me Tan spray is a step by step procedure. Under no circumstances, do not spray all at once and all over your body and then get to smearing it would result in disaster! Spray dries quickly and the color would come out uneven and looking like dirt- I’ve been there- trust me!
Here is what is best to do: take for example lower left leg and spray minimally 3 times: ones bellow the knee, ones above and ones little above the ankle. Do not smear with hands!!!! I mean you could but then you should after each spraying wash your hands otherwise spray would absorb and they would look dirty… not nice.
It is best if you use some sort of cloth – velour puff is what is use, just make sure it is big enough. So, after you spray, gently skim over area with cloth. Do not pres or try to rub or anything like that- just gently skim over, so the spray remains on skin even out. And that’s it. Next- move to the upper leg, then to the right lower leg, then upper, etc. etc. Of course avoid any kind of showering afterwards and it is also better not to dress immediately, especially if planning to wear white clothes.
Just follow what’s written and you can’t miss |

LadyBug, THAAAAAAAANKS for answering!
I did it and my skin looks great (except I missed the part behind the knee
I have one more question. What is the best way to keep up great tan? How often do you reapply? Do I need to exfoliate again before reapplying? |

No problem, my pleasure
Anyway, it’s nothing strange to miss some areas it happens to me all the time… behind knees, under shoulders- when you raise hands… you’ll get used to and maybe pay more attention in the future. Use moisturizer- every day, every other day…it really depends what your skin is like- if it’s dry apply more regularly.
I reapply every 4 days. When reapplying you need to exfoliate, but it is best to use exfoliator that is not as ‘harsh’ as baking soda… although baking soda is actually gentle, but these time use even gentler one as you don’t want all your color to come off. |
