I did a big mistake!
I have naturally dark brown hair (also turns reddish on the beach),and I dyed my hair black! I look like the one from Adams family- I never though my skin is so pale- I really look too pale, like being sick or something.
Anyway, the only solution from this misery would be cutting hair zero - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Or lightening my dyed black hair- I will go for that option!
So- lightening my dyed black hair- how do I do that? Is it possible? I am still a student on low budget- so I would prefer to do it myself (not because I love to experiment, but because I have no money for hairdresser).

Aloha Dana!
There are few possibilities for lightening dyed black hair.
First of all, I must say, no matter what you do or for whatever technique you decide, you will additionally ruin/ dry your hair.
Ok, 1. possibility:
Buy yourself light blond and dye your black hair with it. Your hair will turn orange. The next day (or few days later)dye over with brown, your natural color. You’ll hardly get your totally natural dark brown color, and probably you’ll have some golden shine in hair (because of the blond previously), but considering your skin type (you say you’re pale), I think brown with golden or reddish shine will look great on you.
The other option would be applying bleach, but particularly bleach will dry your hair (so, I would go for first option). Back to the point; apply bleach- if you leave it more than half hour you’ll get blond. (When bleaching start with ends, and then go to the roots, comb hair or massage hair, it is important that you evenly apply bleach on hair). Do not leave bleach too long on hair, because you don’t want to turn blond, so check every 10 minutes.
Getting your color back and lightening dyed black hair is not a easy task, so I hope you make it!

If I were you I would go to hairdresser. I think anything else would make situation worse.
The same happened to me, and I went to hairdresser- still couldn’t get my natural color back
--- it took me more than one year to finally get it back. |

Dana, I think cutting hair would be a good option. You’ll change your hairstyle--- why not? Change can’t hurt you
I agree with Jasmin - what if you mess up alone- better to go to hairdresser than to suffer concequences of your own mistakes...just my opinion
