My mum is 51 and she says her life is over??????!!!! (I can’t believe she is being so pessimistic). She does not wear makeup no more, and doesn’t go out- she says makeup does not look good on her no more. I think her life aspects are depressing and this is worrying me. (oh, I hope this is not my future!!!!)
I guess it is true she can’t wear makeup she did when she was 30, but that doesn’t mean she is not to wear makeup- right? I think all she has to do is adjust it to her age! So, this post is going to all that are experienced as beauticians, makeup artists and anyone else who have a clue how to apply makeup for older woman. She has tinny wrinkles around her eyes, and not that expressed crows feet.
Please, advise me! |

Is she in menopause- it seems like…depression, and stuff like that- my mother was the same- crying a lot, then being touchy like hell… menopause is hard core age, and we will all have to face it.
Of topic, I know, back to make up for older woman.
About crows feet- it is best to use highlighter to de-emphasize jowls. If she is applying loose translucent powder with a powder brush (—use very fluffy brush) it is best to sue it in only in the morning; if re-applying it, it can accentuates lines and wrinkles.
Foundation must have a lighter-textured base.
Best blushes are cream blushes (they moisture) and are easily to apply, are also long lasting- it is best to choose golden almond and copper tones.
For lips it is best to use lip pencil- the color will stay on longer. Best colors are soft matte lip colors in pink, berry, coral or peach shades, because they make lips fuller.
About eye shadows- frosted one make older women look younger- the lightest shade should be applied under brow, and the darker ones closer to your lashes. The edges should not be visible- they should be well blended. If using eyebrow pencil, make it natural- never black, but a color that matches her hair color.
If you have any other question, I am here
I hope your mother will feel better soon!
