My daughter has problems with acne. Personally I do not use foundation, so I can’t be much of a help to her in this situation. Anyway, she is having some sort of celebration coming up soon, and she wants to wear foundation. I read that mineral foundations are best for acne prone skin – is this true? I know this might seem like a stupid question, but I have really never used foundations or powders, so I have no idea about this area?
My daughter has acne prone skin, oily in forehead and cheek and around nose area, but dry on chin, and when using anti-acne products also peeling and having extremely dry chin area.
What would be best for her to use? What mineral foundation do you recommend? |

Hi!
This is true that mineral foundation is best for acne prone skin, as it won’t clog pores and won’t cause any infections or skin irritations. But if she plans to use foundation only for one occasion, it does not really matter whether she uses mineral or not…
For combination skin it is best to use oil-free and matte liquid foundations as they last much longer on oily skin and oily face areas as most of other foundation types. I use Clinique Stay-True Makeup Oil-Free Formula and it is very easy to apply for beginner. |

| Perhaps she could visit makeup artist and let makeup artist do her makeup for this occasion. It is just a thought… |

i wouldn't bother with mineral foundations... despite acne! i also thought mineral makeup will be better for my skin (i also have acne), but it didn't turn that way. When i put foundation my acne were even more visible it was shocking - i spend quite some money on mineral foundations and none of them worked on my skin!
I think Shannon has a point! |
