I have very problematic skin; I am 24 and still suffer from acne, in addition I am supposedly allergic to some ingredients in lipsticks.
I was thinking buying mineral makeup- could mineral makeup also cause me allergic reactions?
I heard that some have mineral makeup problems- with foundations, when they apply, is uneven… is this true? Is mineral makeup substitute for ordinary makeup- does mineral makeup have the same effects; or will mineral makeup cause me problems when applying (I heard people have problems with foundation applying), or even worse- will mineral makeup cause my skin to break up? |

Mineral makeup does not cause problems like acne, on contrary, it is recommendable to use mineral makeup, if you have acne or skin problems.
First reason is ‘ordinary’ makeup is very greasy, and greasy skin products contribute to acne forming.
Second reason for mineral makeup is again against acne. Bacteria that causes acne grows in pores; since bacteria is organic, it cannot grow without presence of water. Mineral makeup is made of natural minerals which derive from earth and these minerals are not only inorganic, but they are also very resistant to water. Mineral makeup does not clog your pores, which is also one of the preventions against acne. These are the main reasons why dermatologists recommend mineral makeup for acne sufferers- probably it will not cause any problems or allergic reactions. Mineral makeup problems are of course possible- there always exists possibility you are allergic to some of minerals contained in mineral makeup…
Mineral makeup is great substitute for ‘ordinary makeup’- mineral makeup will probably cause no problems after applying, but you’ll know that after you try it…
Yes, some people have problems with applying mineral makeup, especially when applying mineral makeup foundation- the mineral foundation contains no fillers, which means it is very concentrated, so a little goes a long way. People usually apply twice or three times too much foundation, this is the reason mineral makeup looks strange and uneven. One reason could be exaggerating with amount, second possibility could be moisturizer- not giving skin enough time to penetrate moisturizer- it is best to wait at least 10 minutes after moisturizing before applying foundation.
Hope this helps… |
