The last few years have spawned a number of new companies that are distributing natural beauty products.
What exactly is natural beauty product? We know approximately what natural beauty products are, but not exactly. Natural beauty products are products that contain ‘safe’ ingredients and are non-synthetic beauty products.
Most of us are familiar with the environmental damage of secondhand cigarette smoke and pesticides on fresh produce for food, overall pollution, etc. etc. But we should also be aware of the beauty products we use: savvy shoppers should know what ingredients go into products, such as soap and deodorant, because the body will absorb the items' ingredients. Skin- our largest organ is the most typical absorption point of everyday toxins. More than 60% of certain ingredients in body products, such as creams and lotions are absorbed by skin into the bloodstream. The effect is not immediate, but cumulative. Chemicals accumulate in target organs (for example liver, kidney…) or are metabolized through system. Nevertheless, both process take many years.
According to Pharmacopia.net over 5000 chemicals are used in personal care products alone and yes, some chemicals are carcinogens.
Those, thinking of using non-synthetic beauty products, I suggest CHECKING LABELS! FDA DOES NOT HAVE A STANDARD DEFINITION FOR NATURAL AND ORGANIC PRODUCTS, thus standards are defined by profit seeking companies. And, trust me, they do not care for buyer, they just say they do!
On the other hand USDA regulates standards for organic. In organic products synthetic fertilizers and poisonous pesticides are strictly prohibited, though small amount of preservative is added to prohibit the growth of bacteria, but such amount is so small that it is not health dangering.
There, the choice and responsibility is on buyers only! |
