Fewer people are getting older gracefully, and more and more people are accepting plastic surgery as alternative to their age.
Over the past 10 years plastic surgery has increased dramatically in popularity, and consequently attitudes have changed. And not only people- like all fields of medicine, also cosmetic surgery has undergone significant technological and conceptual changes in recent years.
When to decide for plastic surgery, what is the ‘proper amount’ of plastic surgery, is there alternative to plastic surgery… all these are questions that need to be answered by every individual him or her self. Unfortunately, our society is very demanding and uniform- it doesn’t allow much deviation from what is thought to be beautiful, and young is definitely defined as such. Our body images in part are shaped by society. Consequently, many people are driven into cosmetic surgery from a combination of social and emotional factors. Cosmetic surgery does not changes life, it may give a person greater self-confidence and add sense of well-being. But, plastic surgery does not solve personal problems or makes you look like someone else!
Think twice before deciding! Do not make this decision lightly! Do you really need (another) plastic surgery or will you allow yourself to age gracefully? While some people might have justified reasons for plastic surgery, other seek plastic surgery for wrong reasons and should consider their decision. |

| Plastic surgery is still merely just an option especially for those who have the means or the money to afford it. Aging gracefully, I believe, is entirely, if not too subjective. People can age gracefully even if they undergo surgery, maybe even more gracefully than the natural way. |
