I was totally hippie  peace and love and all that stuff  All friends were listening Guns ‘n roses and Metallica I was the only one in the school (at least most obvious) that was listening Janis Joplin and Doors  and similar stuff, and most of all, the only one wearing bell jeans, everyone else were either in fluorescent t-shirts (o bad!) or were more ‘anarchy’ prone  |

Fashion in 90s had few trends, but popular culture was mostly inspired by anti-fashion. 90s begun with grunge fashion, ‘inspired by leader’ Kurt Cobain, however by the late 90s there was a move away from grunge.
Throughout 90s hippy fashion was very popular- retro versions- bell-bottom jeans became popular and still are in modernized, not so obvious bell, version. We all have them.
I remember when I was around 10 all girls wore fluorescent clothing, especially t-shirts. Awful ) |

Parachute pants are also known as Hammer pants – remember MC Hammer ‘can’t touch this?’ they were very popular in late 80 and early 90's. Their popularity increased with the popularity of break dancing. They were mostly made of nylon, and looked totally baggy. If you know who MC hammer is, I am sure you know what parachute pants are.
It seems like fashion in 90s really followed music trends like breakdance, punk, grunge, .. |
