This information made me think!
To ALL SKIN BLEACHING CREAMS USERS:
The FDA proposed a ban on over-the-counter sales of skin-bleaching products, such as skin bleaching creams, lotion, etc., explaining that there are potential health risks if using skin bleachers!
Reason for that is these skin bleaching creams contain (most of them) hydroquinone, which is a possible carcinogen, connected to skin-disfiguration (condition called ochonosis, which has been widely spread among black women), and may occur only after short-term use of skin bleaching creams. Some studies show that hydroquinone may cause cancer.
Btw, FDA claims that in USA there are 65 companies selling more than 100 skin bleaching creams and other skin bleaching products that contain hydroquinone. |
