| I have a question. My niece is 17 and has problems with acne. She started using cream against acne. the problem is she skipped her last three periods (and she is using cream fro 3 and half months). We are worried this acne cream has something to do with it. Is it possible that acne cream is causing amenorrhea? |

What cream is she using?
As far as I know there are other factors known that cause amenorrhea; to be honest I never heard acne cream could be a cause for amenorrhea- maybe indirectly. Maybe cream causes some hormone imbalance and consequently period absence. Sometimes stress can amenorrhea, my daughter friend has this problems bacause she was bulemic. Extreme physical strain, like exercise can cause it; casue can be also extreme weight loss or obesity.
I think the best way to find out is to visit doctor and run a few blood tests. That would give a definite answer. |
