I need help, advice, suggestion, whatever. I know there are many teenagers, that have problems with acne skin care and I am one of them. All right, hormones, whatever, I just want to go away. I tried many cleansers- Oxy, Proactiv and whole Manhattan collection- from cleansers to peelings. Non of this products helped me. Perhaps at first- they dried those first pimples, but then, for example Oxy, totally burned my skin. It was red and irritated.
What should I do? I don't have money for expensive treatments at beautician. What can i do? What is the proper acne skin care? I am washing my face regularly, but they keep coming back. PLS HELP ME! |

Hi Steph & Welcome to the forum!
I understand you're worried, but these things take time. That's just the way it is. And cleansers... if they burn your skin, you're either using it too often (not more than once a day) or you're using cleanser that is not appropriate for your skin type (it's stated on cleanser what skin type it is for).
No need to go to beautician, really.
Here are some advices how to take care for your skin.
Wash it: in the morning, before bed time and after exercise. Use cleansers just once a day, or if using very milk cleanser, use twice (morning, evening).
This one is very important: i know it is hard not to squeeze, but don't squeeze! Just don't!you bring infection onto other parts of your face and cause some new acne, and you'll be sorry later in life if you'll have scars on your face. In short- don't touch your face except when washing.
If you use makeup, you could be hiding those acne, but on the long run, you're not doing anything good. If must using cosmetics, make sure you're using oil-free cosmetics, ok? Noncomedogenic does not promote the formation of closed pores, thus this one is also an option, but in some people even these products may cause acne. It is best not to use it at all.
Remember – acne treatments take time... at least 6 months. Truly! However, you can go to dermatologist and see if there are any medications available for your case. For example, benzyl peroxide is over-the-counter medication that dies acne, but most of times those acne cleansers that you had already used contain some. If you would feel better go to dermatologist.
One more thing- it is not proved that specific food causes acne, however, some people report that certain food causes them acne (chocolate, eggs, ...). What i am trying to say is, be careful whether you're 'allergic' to certain food.
Hope this helps for now... if you have any questions, ask... |

| Some people with acne can benifit greatly from chemical peels. I'm not sure how that would work with younger -teenage- skin/acne. I'm older and still battle localized acne-it's genetic for me, I'll probably always have it! But..I use an at home chemical peel once a week and have microdermabrasion done by my aesthetics doctor. I've also switched to mineral make up. All of these things have helped greatly, I still get zits but they are much easier to manage and look much....cleaner?! |

Hello all,
I have to tell you about the Dead Sea products.
The facial moisturizers are super excellent. Especially the moisturizer with olive oil and carrots.
There are good bargains on ebay as well.

| I've been in that stage before where you think the whole damn world is looking down on you because of acne outbreak! Sucks doesn't it? But you know what? It really just goes away on its own if you're not genetically cursed with it. The best thing you can do now is to keep your face as clean as possible for as long as you possibly can. You don't need to apply any creams or treatments especially because you don't know if you're gonna pay for those later. (I mean permanent treatment-induced skin damage) And btw worrying also causes your body to produce unnecessary skin toxins, excessive oil and sweat which can trigger more acne outbreaks! SO STOP WORRYING! |
