How to Dress for Body Type

NECK


If you have long neck

You can wear high round collars, which will emphasis your neck; tall rolled up collar, like with polo neck jumpers, or shirts with reversed collar. Long neck is elegant- bring it out with V-neck collars. But if you would rather hide your long neck, we recommend Russian collar, which will unlike V-neck collar shorten your neck.


If you have short neck


Choose among V-neck collars, because they elongate body and neck.





If you have wide neck


If you have wide neck, wear high, dark collars, long necklaces, collars with sharp ends. Forget about round necklaces, chokers and round collars, because they will emphasis wide neck.  
Your neck will look best uncovered- give your neck more space and show some skin.


If you have no neck

Wear scarf collars or suit collars. We also recommend deep v-neck collars.  
Forget Russian collars that additionally squeeze neck. Both silk scarves and thick collars will widen neck and additionally push it down. If having no neck at all, pay special attention when choosing hair style: do not decide for too short hair style that reveals back of the head; same goes for long hair that makes face look even rounder. Do not wear small rounded collars or cowl collars. Move attention away from neck, for example to your breasts or lower body. Do not try to hide the fact you have no neck with tight collars - you simply won’t make it.
Also be careful with earrings. Dangle or hoop earrings will add volume around neck, for this reason it is better to stay away from them.


HAIR


Middle length hair is hard to deal with, especially in winter. Hair doesn’t keep the line and steadiness and often bends around jacket or coat collars, and can look really messy. For this reason it is better to decide for either long or short hair in winter. Short or lifted hair looks good with high winter collars.
People with long curly hair should avoid high collars.


SHOULDERS



If you have falling shoulders

Wear thick sweaters, jackets with shoulder pads; also recommendable are boat- collars. They draw attention away from falling shoulders. 
Do not wear clothes with elongated shoulders, raglan sleeves, shawls or rounded or cowl collars- they all emphasis falling shoulders.
Best is to choose clothes with shoulder pads (you can cheat and put shoulder pads under bra shoulders straps)




If you have wide shoulders


You look good in everything, even in clothes that otherwise demand great body; for example dresses with Russian or stand-up collars or designs with elongated shoulders.




If you have strong shoulders

Wear V-neck collars, vertical lines, stripes, shawl-collars and pointy collar suits. 
Do not wear designs with elongated shoulders, balloon or puffed sleeves, clothes gathered on hips, very wide décolleté, horizontal lines or bare shoulders. 




If you have round shoulders


Round shoulders are attractive, so if your whole body is rounded, emphasis your beautiful shoulders. It is best to leave them uncovered or bring them out with décolleté.
Show your shoulders, wear T- shirts with round, ballerina like collars, asymmetrical décolleté (if you do not have too large breasts).


BREASTS        



If you have small breasts


You can dress unisex and except your posture as it is, or you can add some volume where this is most needed.
If you want to hide small breasts, wear tops with large rounded sleeves or tunics. For evening occasion decide for a dress with deep cut on the back, and since you have small breasts, you do not have to wear a bra.
Do not wear v-neck collars, especially deep v-neck collars. They elongate body and make breasts even smaller. 



If you have large breasts 

If you have large breasts and a thin waist, play on ‘pin-up’ card and wear tight clothes.
On the other hand, if you want to hide large breasts, wear masculine shirts, open collars, v-neck collars, tops that are tied under breasts. Balance figure with colors: area that you want to hide should be darker- if you want to hide large breast, wear darker tops. Also, avoid all sorts of details on tops, like pockets, fabrics gathered around breasts, etc.
Your breasts will look even larger if you wear round collars, clothes with wide shoulders, straight-line décolleté, thick fibers, up buttoned collars. Also avoid creating too big contrasts between upper and lower body.
If you have beautiful breasts, you should show them, but be careful to keep balance between your hips and breasts (make sure your breasts don’t look like they’re reaching down to your waist).




ARMS



If you have thin arms 

You should wear tops with short or transparent sleeves.
Do not wear shoulder pads or sleeves that are gathered on shoulders, like balloon sleeves.


If you have strong arms

Wear loose and wavy sleeves. We recommend line or cotton shirts with longer, but light sleeves.
Do not wear short sleeves, because they cut silhouette. Also, forget tops with straps. 


WAIST



If you have large or thick waist


You should wear low waist, long jackets, dresses or tunics.
You should avoid clothes with narrow and tight waist, short jackets, boleros, Spencer jackets, tailcoats. Do not tuck blouses into trousers or skirts. Avoid straight skirts, high waist and tight pants.
Wear loose and comfortable clothes, for example loose jackets and free around waist. This way you’ll create volume under and above waist, achieving waist to look thinner.


If you have no waist


Wear wide trousers and jackets with wide shoulders, masculine shirts, tucked into trousers. Generally, wear wavy and loose clothes.
Avoid wide belts in waistline area, and all high waist clothes.
Best is to wear wide and loose clothes.


HIPS

If you have wide hips and tiny waist

You have beautiful waist, so bring it out! Wear trousers with high waist in toreador style. Tight dresses will emphasis your feminine figure. When wearing blouses, button up collars, since buttoned collars emphasis beautiful waistline. If having wide hips (and thin waist) you can wear bolero, Spencer jacket, tops, short sports jackets.
Do not wear horizontal lines, pleated skirts. Also avoid low waist clothes.


If you have wide hips and thick waist


Best option for you are clothes with thin vertical lines (broad lines look good only on thin people). Shoulder pads help create more athletic posture. Long and loose jackets will hide hips and waist. A-line skirt will cover hips and make legs look thinner.
You should avoid horizontal lines as they additionally broaden body. Avoid straight and tight dresses and skirts, because they will not look good on your waist. Also avoid pleated skirts since they add volume, which you don’t need. Stay away from oblique lines, tight pants, short angular skirts and jackets with buttons and bright colors.




THIGHS



If you have strong thighs

Wear long shirts. If you have small belly, wear it unbuttoned. Also recommended are cardigan jackets, tunics, riding pants. Riding pants are generally not very popular, but being wide and comfortable from hips to knees, they will look good on you and without doubt they will hide your most problematic area.
Do not wear tight clothes, tight elastic trousers or very short pants.
In winter tie shawl around thighs, in summer use pullover and tie it around dress or trousers.


If you have thin thighs 

You can wear shorts, minis, tight pants.


BEHIND

      

If you have flat behind


Wear trousers with front line. Wear clothes with the waist in the waistline.
Do not wear tight skirts, details on behind, pants with pockets or any other details on behind and do not wear low waist clothes.

 
Round behind

Wear high waist clothes, long jackets or dresses with long lines.
Do not wear tight clothes, clothes gathered on hips, tight dresses, pleated skirts, jackets with the parting on the back.   





LEGS



If you have skinny legs

You can wear anything, except if your legs are too skinny. In that case it is better to hide them under pants.


If you have strong legs

You can wear long skirts, pants, huge shoes with high heels or wedge heels. Wear dark and thick tights. We recommend ankle-length skirts.
Avoid all short clothes. Avoid colorful tights or those in skin color. Also avoid too bright and too high shoes. Avoid pointy heels as they look too thin and unbalanced with your legs.
