Hi!
Have a hair question. Have curly hair, and read some post about permanent straightening, but haven't noticed post on boots at home straightening kit. Has anyone on this forum used boots at home straightening kit? My friend wants to buy it for my birthday, and she wants to make sure if I'll use it. Anyone here tried it? I would really like to saw some comments before indulging into something like that.
What about actual functionality? Does boots at home straightening kit really work?
Most important/ i understand that stuff like that can damage hair, but is the damage excessive? I mean/ very, very visible??

My roomate has used what I think u mean, and she is very pleased with the results. I don't know about boots at home straightening kit damaging hair. Perhaps on the long run, but hers does not look damaged at all. However, her hair is naturally very curly and she was ironing before (on regular bases) and comparing to the damage she was doing to herself with iron, this is nothing. When she was ironing, her hair really had this spit ends u could see from not so close distance. I think what she did is better. I am not sure how this works, i think chemicals, but the results are amazing-at least when talking straightening. The damage, as I said, I am not sure, it is not visible to the naked eye, perhaps it is present in the hair.

Hi girls!
I would advise you not to use anything involving chemicals, especially at your home, unless you're professional, and since you're asking basic questions about boots at home straightening kit, I would really not recommend to go into this.
It is damaging to the hair, but it is also functional, I mean it does straighten hair. The solution is pure chemicals and it straightens hair by altering the structure of the hair, but this way it also makes hair more susceptible to damage and especially breaking or splitting.
I mean many women with curly hair irons their hair, which is actually not much better than chemical straightening. When ironing hair is exposed to heat and the heat changes the outer structure of the hair, and it lasts until the next time u wash your hair. But with chemical straightening, the structure of the hair changes for approximately 6 months. The period itself reveals how much more invasive the procedure is for your hair.
I would do it and would not recommend to anyone, esp if hair is damaged prior due to ironing.
Hope I didn't disappoint you.
