Best prevention of capsular contracture is to perform compression or pocket exercises or movements as instructed by your doctor. Chance of developing capsular contracture still exists, but is smaller.
Some surgeon believe that implanting textured-surfaced breast implants eliminate the possibility of capsular contracture. Studies do not support that.
Other surgeon believe that silicone gel implants reduce the occurrence of capsular contracture. Again, studies do not support that.
Some surgeons recommend taking Prednisone, with your normal antibiotics, which is supposedly reduces possibility of capsular contracture. Of course, do not do anything before consulting your doctor. Choose doctor wisely, considering surgeons personal patient CC percentage. Follow doctors instructions! |
