Hello there,
I read the cost for cosmetic eyelid ptosis repair is $1000 to $1500 per eye, plus facility fees. Then again, I read prices vary tremendously, and expenses can get as high as $5000, but I am sure this is as high it can get
First of all, there are 3 expenses: anesthesia fee, facility fee and surgeon’s fee. First two are more or less the same in all hospitals and all areas. Surgeon’s fee is another aspect…
Surgical skills play an important role in performing ptosis corrective surgery: higher the skill it is logical it costs more, and of course it is best to choose a surgeon with extensive surgical training and who has had considerable experience in performing ptosis corrective surgery. Another price setter is region where ptosis corrective surgery is performed: most expensive in US is northeast, followed by the west coast, then the central and southern states. Price also depends whether procedure is performed in surgical office or in hospital.
I know I am not being very exact, but these are all the variations that significantly affect costs of ptosis corrective surgery.
I would also like to inform you when dealing with blepharoplasty, some of the cost can be covered by insurance if blepharoplasty is related to ptosis!!! As this is not considered to be just a cosmetic procedure no more! So maybe your father’s insurance will pay at least some of the costs for ptosis corrective surgery. There is also another option if you cannot pay all at once: to ask potential surgeon about monthly payments, since these arrangements are done fairly common.
Anyway, best would be to consult a doctor with experience in that field, since most of the cost for ptosis corrective surgery depends on surgeon’s fee. |
