I have problem with my damaged skin. Since I was a teenager, I was having acne, however scars are not that visible. I always spent lots of time outdoors, but never wore (except when sunbathing) sunprotection. Now I am 36 and my years are more obvious and also not having UV protection when younger. What would be best to do to 'repair' my damaged skin. I posted this in plastic surgery, because although this is more a skin condition and would perhaps be more appropriate to put it into skin care section. However, I've tried milion creams, most of them promising they will do miracle on skin and with all turned out they did nothing. Some people told me how they work magical for damaged skin, but those creams did nothing for me. So, I decided to say stop to creams and try another option- modern medicine. Do you have any suggestions what sort of method or surgery would help me deal with my damaged skin or should I go directly to seek medical opinion?
Thank You very much for Your time!

Yes, I agree with the creams part... they are not so effective in damaged skin treatment, they are more effective as prevention.
You should definitelly seek for medical opinion what would be best to do, since any method performed on face depends on factors as age, your preference and of course state of skin.
Possible treatments for damaged skin are botox, chemical peel, topical treatment with tretinoin, dermabrasion or microdermabrasion, collagen injection and laser skin resurfacing. However, before deciding which is best for you, it is absolutely necessary to talk things through with plastic surgeon or dermatologist. |
