Yes, that is true. Even researches were made on this topic: Deficiency of vitaminB12 may put people at risk for depression and heart disease.
VitaminB12 helps lower the level of homocysteine, a derivative of the amino acid methionine that's found in blood, which is also thought to contribute to hardening of the arteries, this is why deficiency of B12 is thought to contribute to higher risk for heart deisease. Researchers have also found that people with depression are more likely to have high levels of homocysteine. |
