Hey Nicky!
There are options for good moisturizer, just have to keep on trying them out and when you go stick to it. It is best to take some advice from professional where buying – pharmacy would also be a smart choice. One good moisturizer would be Cetaphil, then Oily of olay, another would be Lacticare lotion 2.5%. Later is good for any skin, but if you have really sensitive skin, it is better to consult dermatologist; you might be given Placenta cream- only on prescription, but is very good for dry and sensitive skin.
Every skin should be exfoliated. With exfoliation you get rid of the old dead skin cells and make room for new cells to come. This way you also make it easier for your skin to properly absorb moisturizer. Exfoliation is important step to really good looking skin and unfortunately most people skip it! It is obligatory to exfoliate! Proper and regular exfoliation will give your skin fresher and more youthful appearance- men, for example-why do they have more youthful looking skin- they exfoliate daily when they shave so, yes definitely, you should exfoliate your dry and sensitive skin. The question is now, how often. Do not exaggerate, since you do not to over dry it- it tends to happen so with dry and skin if you exfoliate on daily or less often. In your case it would be advisable to do it once or twice a week- after cleansing. In summer and hot months do it more often, three or four times. People sweat more and dead cells on the face tend to stick together, so it is harder to moisturize it properly then. When cleansing, do not use hot or cold water, because sensitive skin is prone to breaking capillaries, so do not stress it.
Best exfoliator for dry and sensitive skin. Since you have sensitive skin it is best to use one that is neutral and most of all soap free!
Remember, it is really important to exfoliate to achieve good moisturizing effect!
I hope this will be helpful, Nicky.
Take care, Shannon |
