| I started running after a while, and I noticed itching in my legs, particularly thighs. This happened twice now. When it starts itching, I stop exericizing, and then situation calms down after few seconds. But as it appears, it is horrible itching! Anyone knows why do I get itchy from exercise? |

I’ve answered this question to someone not long ago… It is like this… it might be because of the fabric you wear during exercise, or it might be because of the soap you use when you shower. This are two options that need to be eliminated first.
Another possibility, which is very common with people who are starting to exercise after a while, as this is in your case, is increased blood flow into certain part of the body. When exercising or in your case when running, which is cardio exercise, which means heart is working faster, this increases blood low in legs, and since body and your legs are not used to increased blood flow, they response with itching.
This is the most logical explanation I could find, and I talked to my friend doctor, and she says this is most likely the case.
So, what is there to do? Everyone who experiences being itchy from exercise, running,… should first stop exercising, running, in short, should stop movement for the day, and continue with physical exercise next day. The point is: your body must adopt new regime- and when it starts itching, it means it can take it anymore and you need to stop. But continue next day, and soon you’ll be in position where body will be able to take such strain, and when you’ll not suffer from itching from exercising.
However, I am not a doctor, and I am planning to fake one. Thus, I do suggest you consult with your doctor, maybe there is something else going on…
Take care! |
