In such situation laser peel or CO2 laser is used to remove areas of wrinkled skin, in your case this is wrinkles around mouth and eyes. This is relatively new method, so there is no long term data on this technique. Nevertheless physical changes that occur to laserskin resurfacing are actually identical to those that occur with either dermabrasion or chemical peel.
There are levels of laserkskin resurfacing, for example, for deeper resurfacing even the upper levels of the reticulas are removed; and consequently, the deeper the deeper and aggressive the peel, the more longer recovery time.
Considering you have some wrinkles around mouth and eyes and since laser can be precisely controlled for targeting, I think you’re the right person. Of course this depends mostly on your doctor’s opinion, since skin pigmentation is also essential when considering laserskin resurfacing. Namely patients with olive, brown or black skin may be at increased risk for pigmentation. Also important is history of medications.
All skin treatments include certain level of risk- some burns or other injuries from heat may occur.
Best way to avoid this is to find a qualified plastic surgeon with experience in laser resurfacing. Firstly, doctor must examine you and decide whether you’re proper candidate for this procedure. Of course, you should ask doctor about laser- ask whatever is on your mind! |
