This is true, food is essential to skin appearance. Some studies showed that individuals, no matter if olive or fair skinned had better looking skin and less wrinkles appeared because they ate fruits and vegetables, then those who ate lots of fats and sugar.
Following conclusions of studies: higher intake of vegetables, olive oil, fish, and legumes, and lower intakes of butter, margarine, milk products, and sugar products was associated with significantly more youthful skin and most of all skin, which showed less wrinkles. Besides diet, in study was also included smoking and sun exposure variables and study showed diet anyway plays the most important role. The bottom line of the study was that people eating fruits and vegetables and the least fat and sugar had smoother and more youthful skin.
You are asking what food exactly you should eat. Best is green leafy vegetables, prunes, apples, beans, fish, nuts, drink water or tea instead coffee.
