First of all macrodactyly treatment depends whether macrodactyly occur on hand or foot. For example if occurring on foot, the slightest enlargement can make shoes wearing difficult.
Some cases require just shoe accommodation (milder cases), but most of the times surgery is required. Macrodactyly surgery is complex because it involves multiple layers of tissue. Most often several different surgical procedures are required to achieve the desired result. |
