I am experiencing some changes in my life. I am in pre-menopause stage and I am experiencing dry skin, which is not common for me. I always had normal skin, and never had to moisturize it to frequently.
I am wondering now if dry skin is due to menopause or is connected with something else? |

It is very possible menopause is the cause for dry skin. Many women complain of dry skin in menopause. Dry skin can be consequence of decrease of reproductive hormones and collagen production. Since when hormone level decreases, hormones are less available to stimulate the oil glands in skin. This results in dry skin and also wrinkles.
On the other hand, when we age, nutrition and proper diet seem to be more expressed. Deficiency of essential fatty acids and nutrients is a major cause of dry skin.
I suggest you talk to you doctor and see what this really is about. |
