I am searching some information regarding nipple removal. After birth my nipples got much bigger, I think as twice as big as before. This seems unattractive to me (although not to my hubby), and it changes the shape of entire breast. How is nipple removal performed? I know nipples and breasts are very sensitive part of body, so I am little sceptic about the procedure. Are there any side effects that could happen during/ after nipple removal? Is there any loss of sensation in nipples after procedure?
Thank you very much! |

Hello there!
I never did nipple removal, so all I am writing here is copy paste from the book. I think you mean areola removal, and not nipple removal, right?
There are few techniques how areola/ nipple removal is done. One is cutting lower part of areola and simply sewing it together- this makes nipple and areola look smaller. Procedure is done under local anesthesia, and it is not supposed to be painful. Procedure can be done in physician’s office. Women report there is no loss of sensation after reducing nipples and areola.
If talking about ‘real’ nipple removal, most people use clamp and cut procedure, which means nipple is clamped off below where is to be excised. Some even use the technique of burning nipple! Procedure of nipple removal is done under local anesthesia, but people report the procedure is painful anyway! Afterwards bleeding occurs, and healing process takes at least one month. Nipple removal is done most often by male population, since nipple removal in woman could lead to mastitis, and could cause death. |
