I am looking for shaving forums. Hope hair & nails is alright forum for that topic.
I am shaving my bikini area, and my skin there gets very irritated and I constantly get red bumps, especially if I shave the next day in a row. I use shaving cream, and razor with 3 blades, and i apply lotion after shaving. I tried applying baby oil, different creams, but nothing helped.
Please, tell me, how do you deal with situations like that, or if possible recommend some other shaving forum? |

Hi!
I had that problems too, so i stopped shaving, and started to use depilating cream. Of course, test on skin first whether you're allergic or not.
I think depilating cream is much better than shaving – lasts longer, and most of all, doesn't leave skin irritated. |

I use silk epil (you know, the machine that pulls hair with root), which has longer effect comparing to shaving or depilating cream, and yes, i use it in bikini area too.
Everyone (i mean everyone that knows that i am using on bikini area) are going like- are you mad? Doesn't it hurt? ... yes, it does, but i got used to it. Besides, i learned from experience not to do that right before or after period. I think i (we women) have increased sensitivity then...
But, ok, i understand if you're not ready to go through what i am going through twice in a month (yeah, i only have to do this twice in month- great, comparing to shaving, isn't it?), and here is advice from a friend of mine – with same problems as yours-- her hair is really thick, black, and grow fast. After shaving (bikini area, legs...), she applies baby powder. Yes, baby powder... no creams, lotions, or stuff like that. They all moisturize skin, which you don;t need at that point. What you need is something that will sooth your skin, and baby powder (in a thin layer) is best solution. Try and report what happened. I hope it will work out fine for you. |
