Hey Nina!
Yes, you can try this, though I personally prefer anything else but olive oil. Olive oil, as many other oils, is a good skin moisturizer, but has, at least to my nose, very aggressive smell, and besides does not mix well with essential oils.
I suggest sesame oil or shea butter, because both are great sunscreens. Since you have dry skin, do not use grape seed oil, since this one is more for people with oily skin. On the other hand, if you have very dry skin, best skin moisturizer is definitely avocado oil. Avocado oil is also good for older skin.
Considering etheric oils, I suggest lavender. It helps with wrinkles and its fragrance is calming. It is also very good for dry skin and stress relief.
Jasmine oil is also ok, just stay away from thyme or rosemary, since they are for oily skin.
Make sure, whatever essential oil you decide for, let it be organic. Otherwise you’ll do more damage than good.
Take care,
