No, this is not true. Sun dries skin, and consequently dries out also only surface of pimple, but that doesn’t mean it heals acne in general, or acne cause.
Tanned skin also looks better, and acne are less visible on tanned skin, maybe this could also be the reason people think tanning cures acne... it doesn’t! Tanning damages skin – UV rays cause tanning, and they have nothing to do with curing acne. UV rays just dry up skin and reduce the oils, this is why in some cases acne lessen.
There are many other ways to reduce acne- first you should consider your habits like nutrition, physical exercise, smoking, … I suggest you talk to the doctor, perhaps you could get some sort of medicine, which would defiitelly better than tanning. And if you get medicine, I am sure doctor will be more exact and will explain everything to you, but most acne medications demand sun avoidance, so do not tan in the mean while. |
