I never underwent any plastic surgery, nor am I professional, but I did a little research for you… Anyway it would be best if you learn the risks, benefits, and alternate methods of care is during an in office consultation.
Different facelifts demand different incisions and thus different stitches, depending of course on what needs to be done on someone’s face.
Most common incisions start in temporal region (in the hair above the ear), continue down in front of the ear, dip just behind the tragus (bump in front of the ear canal), down around the earlobe, back up behind the ear, cross to the hair behind the ear, and then continue back into the hair. This is the example in most cases. As said before, other incisions might be necessary- this depends on the specific case and needs. Of course, surgeons tend to make scars as little visible as possible.
You’ve mentioned weekend facelift. I am not sure whether they include two stitch facelift scars, but I am sure (at least I read so) the scars from mini facelift usually fade and are barely perceptible. In mini facelifts incisions are as little as one-half length of traditional facelift incisions, so yes, incisions are smaller, but I am not sure whether they are just two stitch facelift scars… |
