what do u think of upper ear peircings?

What do u think of upper ear peircings? I want to get upper ear pierced, but my sister says upper ear peircingns might damage my balance centre. Is this true?

I believe not. Maybe upper ear peircings have some other disadvantages (more prone to tissue swelling and infection- but I am not sure), but not damaging balance centre. Balance centre in not in the outer part of the ear, but a part of inner ear, which subsumes both balance and hearing. The external parts of ear have the function of hearing. I think upper ear piercings have nothing to do with balance.
