Yes, you may use eye liner.
It is important you do not line the whole edge of eye, but the outer corners. you may start at the last third of your eye and line it little bit out, when eye ends. My advice is to line just the lower part, do not create line on the upper eyelashes, because this will close your your eyes.
Also, do not create line in the whole eye, just at the ends. Experiment little infront of mirror... I am sure you'll find the right solution.
