Many factors cause wrinkles: these are free radicals, ultraviolet and visible light, pollutants, like smog and cigarette smoke. of course there is also face movement. All those factors shrink and thin the cells that give skin shape and hold skin firm.
The effects of damaging factors are cumulative, especially factors like free radicals, sun and pollutants. Over time skin looses its ability to hold its shape and firmness. And in conclusion, time is wrinkles worst enemy
